When delayed wires look like missing crypto

9 June 2026

A trader sees “pending” and assumes the counterparty failed to send coins. Ops sees the same ticket and knows the KRW instruction sat past cutoff. Same word, different panic.

Split the board by rail

Crypto Portfolio Desktop settlement views work best when pending crypto and pending fiat are visually separate. Combined pending lists create false urgency.

Write the expected lag

If your bank posts credits the next business morning, say so in the handoff. Otherwise every overnight pending fiat looks like an incident.

Use mild language in chat

“Wire still inside published lag” is calmer than “they haven’t paid.” Calm language keeps counterparties cooperative when you do need to escalate.

Bring mismatches to a review

If the same rail repeatedly confuses the desk, schedule a Settlement Tracking Review instead of rewriting the board in a hurry on Friday afternoon.
